FARGO, N.D. – With donations collected from customers in their annual Feed Hope campaign, Hornbacher’s has donated $44,587 to the Great Plains Food Bank to benefit its partner agencies and feeding programs throughout the region.
The campaign ran from November 30 until December 27 of 2016 asking for donations at the checkout lanes of eight different Hornbacher’s locations in Fargo-Moorhead and Grand Forks. With this substantial donation, the Great Plains Food Bank will be able to supply 178,348 meals going directly to those in need.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Hornbacher’s” Great Plains Food Bank Chief Executive Officer Steve Sellent said. “We thank them for all of their efforts in running this very successful campaign each year and their on-going commitment to our hungry neighbors through both these significant contributions and daily food donations. It is with the help of partners like Hornbacher’s that we are closer than we have ever been to solving hunger.”
“I’m always overwhelmed by the amount of support the community provides for those in need,” Hornbacher’s Foods President Matt Leiseth said.
The Southgate and Osgood Hornbacher’s locations each collected the largest donations from customers at over $12,000 from each store. This is the sixth year Hornbacher’s has run their annual Feed Hope campaign surrounding the holiday season.
